Building costs rise 5.1% in September, about half last year's pace - GSS
The September 2026 Prime Building Cost Index put building inflation at 5.1%, down from 9.7% a year ago, with prices up just 0.03% from August; cement and steel got cheaper while reinforcement and plumbing got costlier.
